MIHAIL CHEMIAKIN
Born in 1943 in Moscow.
Grew up in East Germany, where
his
father was a governor of several
towns.
From 1957 to 1971 lived in
Leningrad.
Studied at the Repin Art School
in Leningrad. Left
the school because of the ideological
discrepancy;
continued his self-education
copying old masters
in State Hermitage Museum.
He had six exhibitions in USSR;
all of them were
arrested and lasted only 2
days.
In 1971 was expelled from the
USSR.
Lives and works in New York.
Participated in over 500
exhibitions all over the world.
